Last week I went to see Future Islands play at Alex’s Bar in long beach (which such a better option than the completely sold out Echoplex show..minus the fact I didn’t get to see friend xbxrx play. Batwings Catwings were perfect (another post, another day) and Future Islands was the obvious amazing. But here’s what this post is really about…Ed Schrader’s Music Beat.
Uhm hello pleasant surprise. The over-all echo of “wtf” and “this is my new favorite band” from everyone in the crowd pretty much sums it up.

oooh also Drew and I stopped in to Joe Jost down the block because it looked like a place where we belonged. Let’s just say I know where to go now when I find my self in long beach. massive beer goblet’s (i had to hold mine with both hands), spicy pickled eggs and cheap sandwiches…yes please
