It may be surprising (considering my usual dirty-boyish-whocares wardrobe…it matches me dirty-boyish-whocares attitude, so what?) I’ve always LOVED jcrew…like a lot. There’s something about the monogrammed everything, cashmere sweaters and the overall cleanliness of it all, that just makes me feel better.
It reminds me of my aunt and uncle who I grew up with for a majority of my childhood. They lived in a simple ranch home where my uncle hatched baby chicks in the garage and kept a hen house out back. Their home was the kind you hope the bed and breakfast you’ve checked into is like. Always home cooked meals and a pantry full of your favorite snacks. Fresh milk from a farm nearby (yes the kind a milkman delivers in glass bottles!) and home made tamales being sold door to door. I could go on and on.
Growing up in Colorado and spending summers and winters in the Rocky Mountains you can bet my heart skips a beat for some middle american nostalgia…for me Jcrew has built in nostalgia I can always turn to remind me who I am. It falls into my feel good about life category along with cappuccinos, buying myself fresh flowers and going to lunch at quaint cafes, which are my go-to’s when I’m feeling blue.
Although I’ve sworn off purchasing clothes for the next year these are the latest I hope to be gifted.
